Carlton Die Castings is a family-run firm established in 1947 which now has more than 60 staff, mostly engineers and machine operators, working at our start-of-the-art premises in Paisley, near Glasgow.
In these days business was based around the central belt of Scotland where there were an enormous variety of companies producing sewing machines, domestic appliances, sanitary ware, valves, pumps, clocks and much more.
By 1970, not only had the Scottish Economy changed but Carltons had spread its customer base to England from where more than 50% of turnover was obtained. 1990 brought a complete change in direction with the introduction of CNC machining. We no longer produced for the motor and white goods industry but entered the market providing fully machined castings to smaller volume markets.
Our customer base covers fork life trucks, floodlights, electrical switchgear, railway track signalling, oil exploration, computer manufacturers, NATO communication equipment, and yacht windlasses.
With more than 20% of turnover going to Europe and the USA, and 8% to Malaysia, we look forward to continuing our progressive expansion into world markets.
