The majority of our products are machine finished to round off any rough edges and ensure that every component is ready for assembly as soon as it leaves our premises.
Vacuum Impregnation
Carlton Die Castings is the only company in Scotland to offer a vacuum impregnation method to seal the micro porosity of castings which would otherwise have to be scrapped.
When a product is made that should be water or air tight it is not always possible to tell if the design is successful until it has been assembled and tested.
Often the manufacturing process causes tiny holes to form in the casting, a major problem that is both costly and time consuming, but we can fix it.
Our unique vacuum impregnation system can repair those castings and ensure they remain pressure tight in the most arduous and hazardous conditions.
Castings are put into a vacuum chamber and pressure filled with a patented resin polymer which fills the holes and is then treated to withstand 20,000psi at up to 250 degrees c.
