Built for thicker sections and lower volumes

  • Gravity die casting in aluminium and zinc
  • Castings up to 20kg finished weight
  • Suited to thicker-section parts than HPDC allows
  • Full batch traceability from ingot to finished part
  • In-house CNC machining to take parts to a finished state

Gravity die casting pours molten aluminium or zinc into a permanent steel mould under the natural force of gravity alone, rather than injecting it under pressure. That gentler fill makes it well suited to parts with thicker walls and sections, and to production runs where the tooling cost of HPDC isn't justified.

As with our HPDC work, our own CNC shop is on hand to machine gravity castings to a finished, assembly-ready state without leaving the building, and every batch carries full traceability from ingot through to dispatch.

How a gravity casting project runs

01

Design review

We check the part for castability and suggest changes that keep cost and quality in balance.

02

Tooling

Moulds are designed and built in-house, matched to the part's geometry and section thickness.

03

Casting

Gravity casting with full batch traceability from ingot to finished part.

04

Machining & QC

CNC machining, pressure testing and inspection bring the part to spec.
